Dubl Duck Hone
This is a recent acquisition. From the looks of it I think I might have to do some minor lapping if I want it proper flat but I am not sure if I want to actually use it yet. If I do lap it I am not sure if the norton will do the job without damaging it. I also have many grits of emery and wet-dry sandpaper.

I have a DD Barber's hone. It's hard as hell. I used a DMT XX, and gave up. One day maybe I'll finish it. You really have your work cut out for you. I'd get the bulk of the work done with the xx, move to the dmt c, then finish up with wet sandpaper. You take it up to 1000g and they look brand new. I've done quite a few Swaty's, and they are equally hard....Good Luck....
P.S. Looking at yours, it's in good shape. Mine had chips, etc...It was rough. You can probably get away with wet sandpaper alone...

Very nice find. They fit in your hand nicely.

Thats a good barber hone! I wouldn't try to lap it much just use sandpaper and rework the surface to get it back to the way it cuts right.

That's nice, I would love to have one of them.

It took a good while but the slight spooning is gone. I worked it with a 50 grit emery until the spoon was gone and then polished it up all the way to 2000 grit. I think I will try it out when I have time on Saturday. And when zib says hard... dear lord... it took some elbow grease for the little it took to take out the spoon.
