I have seen these labelled hones pop up for sale several times, does anyone have an idea what type of stone they are? I have one on the way from the UK, but was curious if in the meantime anyone on here has had any experience with them. I find the recommendation to use them dry interesting. Thoughts?

Is a kind of barber hone, not a natural stone.

Anyone who knows about them or uses them, we need feedback.
I'm not that knowledgeable about naturals, but a close-up of the grain(hone side, top) & a side shot really help.
Usually when label say from three to five strokes is because isn't a natural stone.
The instructions to use it dry and only for 3-5 strokes would make me believe it to be synthetic as well, which is why I've avoided them. OTOH if Neil Miller, who's pretty knowledgable about stones, thinks it is a natural stone then that's probably what it is :)
Or is it made from pulverised natural stones and not actually cut?
