I have decided to take pictures of my awesome finds.
Since starting to buy this kind of stuff in the winter of last year.
Hope to get more.
This is just some of the stuff in the basement.

You are approaching a fork in the road.
One direction leads to something boring (self regulation, discipline, blah blah...), the other leads to an episode of hoarders being filmed in your house.
..
..
which one will you choose?
Is that short and fat coti an Old Rock or Deep Rock branded coti? If not, is there evidence that there was a label on the blue side?
Bummer their is no label.
All the fun in buying is getting a steal or good deal.
i like the fact that i bought ones of the coticules for 14 bucks on ebay.
it's a really fine one too lol.
All you need is some mortar, and you could build a really cool looking outdoor barbecue pit :rofl2:
These are the stones that i keep in my dresser.
Why put clothes in them when must of the pants and shirts can hang.
The amought of time it took to take these out of the draws carefully tells
me a need a shelf up their just for my nice stones.
It's even addictive buying the arkansas stones in the photo.
Don't get caught in Florida with all that rock. :nono:
You will get charged with Hone Trafficking.
Hirlau, stop being a cop for one second, okay?!?! :rofl2:
You do post the funniest sh.., er, stuff!
I use those plastic storage boxes they sell in Wal Mart and Target. They're stackable and they're great for guys like us with too many stones.
Holy Cow!!! You just started collecting last year? Very nice rocks.
Nice collection, it looks like I missed a few ebay auctions.
You need to get your stones their own bedroom!
Very nice collection, good to have "HAD" LOL..
lol that's what so addictive about buying treasure off ebay.
I have resold some unwanted stuff in the past for some profit. or gotten
all the money spent back.
And kept all the must of the really fine natural stones for my self.
Their just no losing if you get it really low. Like i got this one stone that i think is a unmarked
german stone spent 50 bucks for the lot. Resold some razor that was done for like 29 bucks. that
was before i knew of the scale collectors who buy just the handles it had a a fancy naked lady scales.
so for about 21 bucks i got a nice german stone. there is just no real sense of any losing.
So you're the one that outbids me on every hone I bid on......:jedi:
I really do wish you were my neighbor lol. :)
Wow that's some collection. They would look super inlay-ed in my front walkway.
I had to many stones that i didnt use so i decided to make a lawn ornaments out of them!

Oh man what does prevent me from spending too much cash
is the folks who straight up ask to much money for the condition of
the axe they have.
When it's just the axe head i bidding on people need to realize the best
way to ship them to me is too wrap them up in bubble wrap or newspaper.
and put it in a flat rate envelope it's would be fine.
Man yea there ben stuff that i know always bid x amought cause i would always have luck selling x amought more.
So if i had to be at work when it was ending i would just put in a max bid of half what i could have sold the same thing for
in the past. Then i stop trying to resell this stuff. Always thought it was odd that i would profit big time on a select few manmade stuff.
never line up a buyer for a nice fine vintage rock. I now have the opnion that one should bother to sell fast cutting natural stones with a shaving grit. Just not common enought to justify it.
I really didn't need to see this post......sniff.
I need to show this thread to my wife. She thinks I have too many hones.
This is not all of my hones lol. cann't make up my mind on what's my favorite.
I might pick a fast cutting one that's really fine to see how long it would take to set the
bevel on a razor of my and finish all on one stone. Buying this much of anything is truely a addiction
cause i even buy up dirty arkansas stones that need a good cleaning.
Whats bad is when you get a bunch of them, and you've heard they're supposed to be good ...... it ain't that good and you don't know if it is you or the hone. You can't get rid of it because you have to keep trying to conquer it and get the full potential our of it.
Meantime you've bought 3 more and you have to figure them out. Come back to that other one and don't remember what the story was and start over ..... and then 3 or 4 more ........ :banghead: Kinda like a gerbil running on one of those wheels. :boohoo:
there are a few that do need a good lapping
My buying started with wanting one good stone from every country that ever mined them. So i would always spend a hour or two looking at stuff.
so i always bought at what i thought was a steal. thought what i once thought was a steal i now know it's sometimes a fair deal.
i would must likely always buy a nice stone for just a few bucks.
i must likely not look as much cause it's very draining to have to sort though so much junk.
