My fiancé got me A Norton hone set off amazon (SRD was out of stock). The delivery guy just threw the package into the driveway and this happened: Attachment 117253Attachment 117254Attachment 117255Attachment 117256
Needless to say I was pretty bummed out. I'm sending them back to have them replaced.
I assume this damage would be very problematic during honing (assuming I used the entire hone). I wanted to ask you all what could be done if I wasn't able to have them replaced? Could that be fixed? Would you just not use those areas of the hone? Also is the Norton lapping stone sufficient for flattening the hones for straight razors?
Thanks,
D
