Hi Guys, Thought I would show off my hone acquisitions for the last month or so.

Next is a little 5x1 Tam O Shanter that I got for like 20 bucks or so, theres a seller on ebay selling them at the moment seeing as the mine is closed I figured I might as well grab one.

Next is called a Brookstone Hone Co Strop Back Razor Hone, I paid very little for this and it came wit the box in great condition with the original instructions and everything.

And LAST But not LEAST I just won this S R Droescher AMBICUT hone. Comes in a nice wooden box and everything, it looks like it is missing the rubbing stone though =/ but oh well I have plenty of those anyway.

Do let us know how the Pike Sapphire hone performs. I, for one, am very interested to know. Great purchases, by the way.

Lovely hones! I admit I love Swaty hones, but I am curious to know how this ones perform.
-
Nice collection of barber hones and that Tam is just a cherry on top.

I looked at some old threads regarding the ambicut hone. It appears to have a thuringian/escher stone on the reverse side. I say escher as SRD was the distributor for escher hones in america (I think?) but I know they also distributed Hohenzollern as well and other thuringians. Anyway I am wrapped that I paid 39 dollars for a barber hone with a thuringian on the back! lol
some pics showing the double sided ambicut hones from another thread I found:

The last pic seems to be identical to the hone that I bought.

The Ambicuts are very nice hones. The natural stone side comes in a nice light green color and is exactly like my light green escher. Although it doesn't say anyone what the stone is, I would bet on it being the German water hone.
