I do use a Coticule slurry stone. I need to cut off a piece of my C12K for slurry. I even tried building the slurry with Windex but it did not seem to make much difference over water slurry. But straight Windex is a feel all its' own.
i did try .5 diamond spray on the C12k and it creates a substantial burr that I remove on soft wood. but I prefer to avoid the wire edge altogether.
I specified the naturals. I would not recommend trying Windex on resin synthetics.
I have used soapy water on mine and have had good results
Avenolpey, if you're looking for a piece of C12k to make slurry on your C12k, but don't want to cut a piece from your hone, don't overlook zib in the Classifieds. I just bought a C12k slurry stone off him.

I have used this even in place of oil on Oilstones, the stuff is Cheap, Slick, and Water Soluable, I have never used anything but water on Synthetics not even soap...
Yes, I use this stuff on my Carborundums.

I've been using greenworks all-purpose-cleaner since I don't have windex, for no other reason than it allows the tape to slide across the stones with much less friction and less wear.
I think it's interesting that the OP (and others) have found this useful. Thanks for posting! I now have another tool in the tool box and will try it someday. I have also found this "suction" feeling but only when my hone is perfectly flat. It reminds me of the surface tension or suction you get when you wet a flat surface and place sandpaper on it. How it kind of sticks. I get that only on my flat hones. Can't explain it and maybe someone more scientific can but it's there. I feel it more with a slurry and I have heard others mention it too. I don't think there is much that will affect a piece of solid hard stone. Even if it does I can lap it off. Thanks again OP.
