Word of Caution...Wink Wink
Hey y'all;
It's been a while since I've posted consistently and I don't even know if this will be moved to another forum. Anyhoo...a few days ago I was ready to give it all up...couldn't get a good str8 shave with my cadillac (Boker) and had to finish with the Merkur DE. Cetainly no shame in using the DE as it IS a good one. I actually went from the cartridges to the DE some 8 years ago then to the str8's 3 years ago so the DE is by no means a shill. MY frustration was that my once trust Boker King Cutter wouldn't...cut. Lo and behold like a thunderbolt it hit me..."maybe it needs some time on the hone"...sure enough that was it. So...the word of caution is...don't forget to give the str8's some lovin' time on the hone before they actually need it. Some of the more well versed and experienced may or may not agree and of course I welcome any input y'all might have. It does seem that as I get older (about to hit 50) that my beard, especially on the chin, is getting way tougher to shave. As things went that morning, it almost got to the point to where I posted my razors for sale in the classifieds here but...my trusty ones will be here with me for some time.
