Hello all it's been a while since I posted. Theoretically I was wondering if there is a tiny corner on the heel that is shining light in a different direction how badly will this effect the quality of my shave? I know how to correct it. I am not looking for a huge long answer just your thoughts on if it will still give a satisfactory shave. Thanks everyone.

How is it reflecting differently. Is it the blade, stabalizer, is it at the very edge, slightly in? Pics would help as what you said is a bit hard to answer.
That said if it is right at the end of the blade that bit wont shave properly and may tug etc but if not set to the point of not shaving the it shouldn't affect your shaves it just won't do anything
Then the shave is not 100%,,,,
Only you can tell how it will shave, do a pass with it & if you feel that it was not as close as you are used to, then correct the problem.
Attachment 180721Attachment 180722 Its a mighty terrible blade I'm actually thinking about throwing it out and using my keen Kutter, this is why you don't buy crappy razors. But I paid 5 bucks for it so what the heck I figured I'd use it once before throwing it out.
Looks like you have gone on to the stabilizer. If the rest is shave ready give it a try just that bit wont do anything unless you set the bevel and sharpened that bit properly as well
I that a Gold Dollar razor? If so they are known to have some stabilizer & shoulder problems but once that is fixed they take a decent edge and aren't that bad but until then they won't hone evenly along the entire edge. In the past I had a couple Gold Dollars and a couple Double Arrows with the same problems. Fixed them, sold them and have had no complaints from new owners.
If it's an umodified Gold Dollar, the shoulder may be holding the heel off the hone at the honing angle you're using.

These last two posts nailed the problem. A Dremel will fix the issue but be careful and wear eye protection.
For the 5 dollars I paid for it, it's not even worth my time. I have another gold dollar I use quite frequently with no problems at all. Thanks though guys !
