I figure the only germs I come up with will be ones I have already. Nobody else uses my razors. Now, of course, if the wife uses one of my straights on the sly, I might come up with a case of faceinitis.

It's like washing your hands. Why wouldn't you sterilize a razor that someone else has used?
The odds are small, but not non-existent. I occasionally shave some of my friends. One of them in particular, tested positive for Hep . I have a razor with his name on it. It gets used ONLY on him. it is in a marked box. it is cleaned and sterilized after every use. It is only stropped before use, which means it has been sitting for a few months before hand. Its important to be careful. Especially if you DONT know who your razor has been on recently. As has been said. COMMON SENSE saves lives! :deadhorse:
