Hi,
I just recieved some crox paste from Maggard. I have never used this before, and I researched how to use it through the search engine. But while reading up on that I came across an older post that mentioned that it was "mutagenic", which I assume means it's not something I want to get on my hands or face. What are the safety precautions(if any) when applying and using this stuff, and how should I clean it from the razor after use?

Chromium oxide dust is harmful if inhaled in large quantities. You won't be doing that. The paste can (rarely) cause contact dermatitis, so if it irritates you, get some rubber gloves. Otherwise don't sweat it.
The precision chromox paste removal tool I use is sold by reputable medical supply houses under the name "Kleenex."
The major risk you run is that the paste will stain everything it touches. Rubber gloves are actually a reasonable idea here.

I've always just wiped the blade with a cotton pad after running it over a Crox pad and before any further stropping.
And like ol Mom would say, if concerned wash your hands afterwards.

Mutagenic, which you probably already know means it has the "potential" to cause cancer by mutating your DNA. But again that is all cancer is, a runaway DNA mutated fast reproducing cell growth. But again the same is said about the dust from our hones. Chromium is a known carcinogen, BUT AS LONG AS YOU MAINTAIN CLEAN PRACTICES YOU SHOULD BE ALL RIGHT. As previously said just wash off your hands and equiptment when you are done, and you should be fine. But if one is really concerned just where gloves.
So I won't get any special powers? I guess I can quit rubbing it on my body now.
