Should bevel widths be equal ?

Hello Everyone,
I am honing a Dovo Good Quality 5/8 razor.
I have noticed that the width of the bevels are not equal from the upper side of the razor to the bottom side of the razor.
Should I attempt to hone just the one side of the razor without flipping it, until the bevel widths match. Once the bevels begin to match in widths then should I progress with the pyramids.
Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

They don't have to be, necessarily, for the razor to shave well. Uneven bevels indicate poor and uneven grinding. Some variation is inevitable, particularly in the older ones, because they were basically a handmade product, but it should be very slight.

Unless this really bugs you then I wouldn't bother correcting the bevel. Maybe give it a few more licks on one side each time you hone, to help nudge it back into place. But taking extra steel off just for cosmetic reasons seems a bit excessive.

I have the same problem! The bevel on the back of the blade is 50% wider then the bevel on the front thanks to my honing (lack of) skills.

I'll follow this advice rather than risk furthering my error!
