Hatanaka Nakayama Kiita
Hoshi Tambo 6500
IRSCO Indian pony shell 963
Received this George Butler surgical razor, as a gift from one of our members, here.
Had some small chips along the bevel, and looks to have had the sides of the spine, ground flat.
So, Three layers tape brought it to the right angle.
Chips removed, Bevel set on 1000 Chosera.
Then my fast cutting Thurigan, slurry to water.
Moving to a BG Escher/ barbers delight, light slurry to water.
And finished on a hard, dark blue Thurigan, water only
20-30 on Cr/Ox pasted linen strop.
60 on Red Latigo
60 Bridle.
40-50 Shell.

Test shave within the hour. :tu
Shave is OK, but I forgot to remove the third layer of tape after bevel setting. Jus had to shave at a higher angle than usual. Will be remedied upon the night.
I decided to test some of my razors on different finishing stones. Todays hone was my Kikuboshi 2002 with my other Hatanaka Nakayama Kiita. Attachment 284770Attachment 284771
Two heavys going all the way through to-day. One old, one new!

Have not used my combo thuri in more than six months. So today I touched up Simmons Hdw. 420 Hornet. She likes to sing and takes very nice edge! Very good razor for the prices I see them go for.Attachment 284889Attachment 284890
I glassed both edges, those shave-ready suckers!
Got through these on 1K, not so easily. The Riga went swimmingly, but the old FBU had issues. Little chip!
Had to go back to the green and beat on the thing with the brown turd slurry to get things to take.
Finally got it there, both light and wet on Naniwa 1K.

Will likely take a light trip through the pyramid on the Riga. Another layer at the end of the finisher. Might keep the bite down.
I did manage to hone it toward a smile a lot more.
Think I will bust-out Fratenelli's Coticule on the Butcher.
Some hand-held love.
Such a pile of slurry under the thick paper-towel!
Been a while since I did that! :)
