Looks like a little push on the heel Tom
You make that look like childs play.
You taught me better. Just sayin I still read that blade you honed.

[QUOTE=kaptain_zero;1559372]No new honing action around here, but I just recieved notice my new Naniwa SS 12K has arrived in town. Delivery is sheduled for tomorrow.
That Zulu Grey sure looks nice..... hmmmm.
And...... did someone say "pie"?!?!?! :w
Regards
Only a few would caught what Homemade means. NICE!
I tried to hone earlier but couldn't get the feel for it. When the girlfriend went to bed I saw the perfect opportunity to go find a tranquil place and just be one with the blade. A terribly uneven hone worn Joseph Allen and Sons easily tamed by my mighty 00 Frictionite and Les Latenuses. My perfect little hones. All under 4 inches long. :) Attachment 216961

What does a dog do on its day off?
Went through a few different steels today, there was a W&B hollow grind I did on a Coti that I am looking forward to the test shave
This Portland Hydra was the fun one,, O1 steel tempered to 62 RHC
It was sent in after being on a Norton 4k where the edge was falling apart..
The rather large bevel IMO was formed using 2 layers of tape, it was a nice even bevel so I went with it, but I am not a fan of thick bevels on new razors ..
Chosera 1-5-10 the steel took on a near mirror polish, I did kill the edge a couple of times on the 1k and once on the 5k to make sure any burring was gone.. I shifted to the Zulu Grey with a light slurry for the finish, gently diluted out to clear water after about 40 laps...
The edge evened out and took a sweet haze finish :)

Hone on Gentlemen :)
That's a nice looking razor!
When you say you killed it on the 5k Glen, did you bring it back on the 5 as well, or drop back to the 1k again? I haven't redulled mid honing to date. What's the benefit, if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks
