Not so much hone of the day as projects of the passed week. All were run on Norton 1k, 4k, and 8k with different finishers for each blade.

Left to right:
Dovo on Chinese hone of indeterminate grit. Slurry worked up with stone that came with the hone, presumably same material as hone. 100 strokes heavy slurry, 100 strokes medium slurry, 100 with water, and for kicks and grins a final 100 with Mama Bear's Aged Spice shave soap whipped into a thick lather for a very light polish. Will probably run 10 strokes on CrOx, then strop 25 passes on linen, 50 on leather. Looking forward to shaving with this.
Germania Cutlery Works Oxford Razor finished on Franz Swaty B. Hone. 10 strokes water, another 10 with shave lather. 10 rounds CrOx, 25 linen, 50 leather. It tugged a little, so I brought the B. hone in and did a few more laps with shave lather. Did a little back and forth from the hone to the face until it was shaving with no tugging. Then back to the strop. Smooth shaving afterward. New found respect for the usefulness of a B. hone, they will reside in my cabinet with the other shaving supplies.
Finally the Morley & Sons Clover Stamp that I refurbished earlier this week finished on an American Hone Co. B. hone. Very similar process to what I used with the Swaty. Only difference is I did a few strokes on the back (green) side (10 water, 10 shave lather) to see if there was any difference between the 2. I think the orange face is ever so slightly finer, but this is just guessing based on what I see under a 60x loupe. Have yet to feel frisky enough to shave off the green side. 10 laps CrOx, 25 linen, 50 leather. It also tugged a bit when I first put blade to beard, so there was some back and forth until the tugging stopped. I wasn't bright enough to re-strop this one before finishing the shave. Close shave, but as you can imagine much razor burn. Will strop before next use lol.
Obviously there are still some kinks to work out of the system, but so far things are coming together nicely.
