Wade & Butcher Celebrated Hollow Grind finished on my new Aiiwatani.
I almost don't care if it shaves well, this honing session was blissful. But so far every edge from this stone has been fantastic.

As I'm new to JNats, I'm testing a couple of stones I got recently.
Here's a Nakayama Kiita Koppa (Lev. 4,5) with a Shobudani's Tomo Nagura.
Yesterday I worked on a nice DOVO Tennis n.20 - 5/8" - Full Hollow. The stencil says "for delicate skin". The blade was practically NOS.
Started with a Naniwa Super 3K to set the bevel, then used an italian "no name" slate which is good as pre-finisher, and finished with the Nakayama using the Shobudani's slurry, diluting it gradually. 10 laps on the stone with only water & about 70 on a leather strop to finish the job.
Today the razor delivered one of the deepest and confortable shave ever. I'm very happy!

Just spent a few hours on these making sure they could take an edge.
The W&B is good to go, it has an angle of 18 degrees with thick tape, now i can concentrate on scales..
The Clough & Co has that special soft steel coming in at 19 degrees with a layer of Kapton tape.

Most guys around here, have them reground. Yeah..it's quicker, but you take a big risk of the metal being overheated along the edge, so I always hone them by hand.
Their about as hard as razor steel, if not harder. Very brittle, and easy to break, if they are struck against the ice.
I'll start with a 220 Naniwa, and progress to 800. Then finish it off on the Washita.
Their only meant to be honed from one side, and you don't remove the burr. The burr will be removed in the cutting of ice holes.

My honing is always messy I'm afraid, and I just finished 6 razors for someone yesterday so the stones are dirty and ...well, I don't keep things very clean, sorry.
Got motivated to do a couple of my old customs that have been sitting around for a while collecting dust. One is by Alex Jacques (maybe even his first, or close to it) - it's the sway-backed looking one with the opaque yellow/greeen scales. The other is by someone I cannot remember now, I'm really really sorry about that whoever you are/were [EDIT: I am a moron, it is a Bruno - sorry Bruno]. Both were made to my unrealistic designs but, bless them, they did it anyway. They are both a bit of an effort to hone I have to say, but worth it.
Stones are a 1.2K Atoma diamond plate, a Norton 4/8K, an escher/thuringian (the short thin blue one), and then a Nakayama maruka something something Asagi (larger sky-blue stone). This is my standard progression for my razors and the ones I hone for others. Always produce a really consistently good shaving edge.
James.

Test shave was awesome.! Almost BBS, with a 2 pass shave.
Le grelot on an 8x2 translucent arkansas stone. Previously I don't think I had the best ground work so I did some 5k work first then a little bit on the 8k before finishing on the ark. Thought I'd throw in some spice for the thread and link a video
