The lucky 77 is a nice German hollow, the beaver, was my barbers first razor and I offered to clean em both up for him.
Took them through the progression, but finished them both on a coti, diluted as I ended the session.

Being in the US Barber don't use Straights.
But I talked a lot with my barber about them. He has been doing hair with scissors for over 50 years. He says he went to barber school, not beauty school. LOL. He says if he never has to touch a Straight again it will be too soon. He hated giving shaves as someone would complain they didn't get a BBS shave or some would come in on Sunday morning and reak of alcohol and he hated having to put up with it. He does a great job on my hair and his name is Jerry. Hard to beat that!

Up here they use shavettes now in public barbershops but these were personal stock items for ole Dino.
He turned 70 last week and I wanted to give him something so offered to hone his, and his dad’s 77 for him.
He used the 77 on me to trim up my scruff tonight so I’m glad I did a good job on them..

My barber is in the same shop for 56 years. Same chairs and floor
He uses shavettes to do the trims on everyone but me.

I take one of my razors for him to use. He really enjoys using a good straight

I tried that one Dave. He just said no. He would rather not. He doesnt do shaves any more so he is out of practice.

In every highstreet round here there's a handful of Turkish "barbers" they are not the best but they all do pretty good hot towel shaves with a shavette.
