Three of my favourite razors all quarter hollows which also happens to be my favoured grind, having used these for a little while with a very acceptable Nakayama edge, the time has now come to return them to my more favoured synthetic edge, took them back to the Chosera 5K then on to 8K 12K then finally the SG 20K, I'm a synthetic Man and that's not going to change anytime soon.

A nice Leresche that I got, took a very easy edge on Chosera 1k, 5k and 10k Superstone. Nothing fancy but does the job. With the softer steels I find just the 10k with a few strops on CroOx is all they need.

Arrived today from Japan a NOS Kawashima, beautiful razor, honed back out Monday on it's way to a good friend Mr Gary Haywood.

How do you find Japanese full hollows to hone rather than your favourite 1/4 hollows, Jamie?
For me, with the 1/4 hollows, I need to use more pressure on the bevel set as the steel is so hard. Took me a while to get into my thick head.

Mark, I do find full hollow grinds much easier to hone, I agree the quarter hollows can need a little more pressure where a full hollow can be walked through a progression.

Vintage Washita took razors past bevel set to (Guesstimation) 6K range.

4 very nice Sheffield razors on the hones today, including my own Hoshi Tombo that needed a little tweak after it's a brief affair with a Japanese Nakayama, that's more like it back to where I like it, congratulations James you have 4 very nice razors coming back your way on Monday.
