Welcome to SRP. Nice piece. Yes, that could be restored with little to do beyond a light polish and honing to shave ready. If I was mine I would do the minimalist approach. Semichrome, or Flitz on a paper towel and send it out for honing unless you can do it yourself.
Thanks. I'd prefer to have it in relatively the same condition, as it seems to have aged nicely. It has two blades as well, but I'm incapable of honing either. Who would you recommend that is nearest PA?
Alfredo Gil (Doc226.com) is in Rhode Island and can do a light cleaning and polish the scales too if you want. Nelson (bayamontate) is on Long Island IIRC. He is a member here I believe.

If you look at the toolbar above you'll see the classifieds. 'Member Services' shows various members who hone for a minimal fee. I hone my own so I wouldn't be able to recommend anyone specifically, and it would be showing favoritism if I did. I haven't read the ads myself, but they probably note their location, for instance mainaman is in VA which is close to PA if I'm not mistaken.Quote:

Looks like it would be an easy clean, you could certainly do that yourself. I use Mothers chrome polish on the steel and scales, works great.
Last time I talked to Stefan(mainaman) he was in Iowa, but like you Jimmy I was wrong one other time. As far as close to you, just remember their all as close as your mailbox. Tc
For full restoration the only person I have ever used was Brian Brown. Not sure if he even works on restorations any more.
I am often in PA, and when I am not, I'm in Upstate NY, or Brooklyn NY. I would be happy to hone that up for you. And if you include the spare blades, I'll hone them too. Family pieces are special, and I like to hear these kinds of stories. :D
