Basically on 1k level my edge chips out. I have tried the lightest stroke I can perform and it still chips.
I went to 5k just to see if I could sneak up on the edge with a less aggressive stone. This helped but still chips out.
Since I got my 2k the other day I decided to try that and still chips.
I have tried gently killing the edge about 5 times through this process.
The only way I can seem to get a bevel that stays is with 3 layers. Secondary bevel comes in nice crisp and clean. So I set bevel mostly on 1k went up through progression to 12k. Shaves arm hair like a laser. Test shave this morning first few strokes were great. Then started tugging.
After finishing with another razor I looked at the edge. All chippy from the shave.
Euclid I believe you asked what spine thickness was, it is just a hair under 1/4 inch.
If anyone has last minute thoughts please feel free to say. I believe I'm going to send this blade out I can't keep beating a dead horse or I'm gonna ruin this razor. Thanks to all who have made suggestions so far I greatly appreciate your help.
