Ok Gents,
A while back i used two layers of tape to reduce the width of the bevel on a razor as it was kinda wide and was a stubborn bevel so now that it's been honed a few times and the bevel seems to have gotten better I am thinking of dropping down to one layer but am curious if i would have to go all the way back to a 1K or could I just start at the 4K level ?
Try the 4k and see how it goes. If it is taking too long, then drop down to the 1k. I usually just use Botan slurry on a Suita for something like this - you're not talking about a lot of metal here.
At a 4k level it will take maybe 10 laps to erase the 2 layer bevel if you had just cut it, after shaving and stropping it is a moot point
