Glad I could help!
I'm cheaper than Ambion and certainly less habit forming.
Sleep well, Tim.

Glad I didn't stumble upon this when I started to teach myself.....
I can't find em, utopian's that is.
Man, the sound of that razor going over the first stone he uses is HARRRRSH! My G-d, I hope he never uses that stone again on that razor. I'm going to YouTube to go leave this idiot a message!
Well, I'm the "idiot" that made the video. I don't recall what hone I started with but I can guarantee that I used the right hone according to what the edge needed. If I see chips that extend half way into the bevel, then there is no point, in my "idiot" opinion, in starting with a 1k hone when I need to remove a lot of steel. Odds are good that I started with a Chosera 600 hone. I would have followed that with an 800 and then a 1k.
What is your objection with this approach?
You are not the guy in the horrible honing/stropping video. That guy thought he knew what he was doing. None of us here would subscribe to "sharpening" a razor like this. I read farther back, before this page. This was a joke video to get people to troll?
You made the first post, with the video you found of some guy who thinks he knows how to hone and strop a razor. That is the "idiot" I was referring to, the guy in the video.
