Wife and I are waiting to be sat for dinner, wait staff says to follow her, stand up and take a cople steps and then it sounded like a 22mag went off when that carbon fiber snapped under pressure. ..

Don't miss the tree for the leaves.
Hone it first & then see what's left of the ding. It will have reduced by some margin. Then look at correcting it.

Glad you got it sorted out. As mark posted the real DMT is the one he linked. I also have the Atoma 400/1000 diamond plate. Lower cost and works just as well if you ask me. The real cheap ones at H.F. and other places around town I'd stay away from. Order up that 1K stone and a Diamond plate. You won't regret it!

A King 1k is $20 and will work just fine.

Yes. What Marty said. You dont have to go out and buy the Chosera 1k (green brick) to have a decent 1k stone. But a good diamond plate is a must.
