If you use Kapton, do yourself a favor, get a tape dispenser from the Dollar store. Kapton is so thin it can be frustrating to pull off the roll and get on a spine without sticking to itself.
Plus, the dispenser makes it easy to measure how much tape you need, just hold the blade up to the cutter and pull enough tape to cover the spine.
Jeez now if only somebody had thought about that and done some testing in the past :rofl2:

I think the reason Glen asked this is because if you are using two hands & pushing down on the razor to keep it flat you will create large & uneven bevels.
You only need the spine & edge to contact the stone at one point thru the stroke & that can be done on a narrow hone OR...
You can mimic a narrow hone by drawing a 1' wide line down one side of your hone & concentrate on using that section alone. Yes your razor's toe is slightly elevated .
