Default Please help me identify this coticule

    Hi there, gents,

So, I've had this coti for a while (well, maybe 6 years) and it's a wonderful stone but I've been curious these days about what type of coticule this is.

I'm not sure if it's a La Dressante or La Veinette since I don't really know how to identify them.

I've seen pictures on forums and sites and realized they have a pencil mark with "LV" (maybe that stands up for La Veinette, I don't really know) or something like that. Mine came with kind of an "I" but I lapped it a while ago and the mark went away. However, I've a picture from the day it was brand-new and the mark can still be seen in the pic.

I bought it at the official Boker Hardware store in Mexico City. In Mexican shaving groups they told me it's a coti but that's all. The original packaging had a label that read "Made in Belgium". It came in a wooden box with the Boker logo on it.

Here you have some pictures. I'd really appreciatte your help to identify the grade. Selected? Selected Plus? La Veinette? Les Latneuses?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regards and happy shaving,
    CoffeeAddict24

La Grise? Thanks for your time.

Anyway, someone else (a honemeister) told me today that he has this same Boker-sold coti and that it's a Standard grade coticule.

I hope more shavers have something to say.

La grise sounds about right. I've seen a lot of coticules like that for sale over the past few years. Pretty ubiquitous. If it does the job and you're happy with it, that's what matters.

The only difference between a standard coti and a select is cosmetic. If both are from the same level, they perform the same, according to the folks at Ardennes.

There is a Select Plus grade that I have only seen applied to Les Latineuse hybrids, but I have no experience (yet) with those.

I'm not worried about performance, it's a great stone.

I only want to know what "name" this would be.

I think you might have enough experience with cotis. So, I think I will consider it a La Grise.

I have a Selected on the way and soon 'I'll get a La Vienette.

    Thank you,

    Kind regards,
    E. Mike

I’d be surprised if you can’t find the cpti info you are looking for here.
