Seriously, what is it?
It polishes better than my coticules and thuringians (as of a quick test). It is 6.5"x1.25"x.375" and is a definite yellow-green color.
But it has some streaking that is uncommon to thuringers, so I'm hesitant to say it's an Escher. It was pretty beat up and two corners really can't be used because they are so worn down that I'd have to lap 1/4 of the stone away to make them usable.
What d'ya think?
When you lapped it did it come off as a powder similar to a thuringian? If so, then it is a YG Escher.

it came as a "freebie" with a barber hone that I bought for $10. So even if it's not an escher, it polishes really well and I'm not out any unnecessary expense.

The two corners are not a different material, they are chipped and worn down from the top surface of the stone and did not get lapped. So that is what the entire stone looked like before I lapped the top. The back still looks that way, with a few light spots where I started lapping it but stopped because the other side was flatter.
Are there other possibilities for what it could be?
Since it does cut the steel and is very fine?
New photos, lapped a little further, and with other thuringers to compare.
It's certainly a nice looking stone, well done in spotting it.
It looks to me like it will be a really good polishing stone.
If it develops an edge as well as a Belgian coticule, then you have something very special.

If yours is a YG Escher, than a stone I have with no inclusions that's actually bonded to a handmade wooden razor box is also a YG Escher?.

My stone looks identical to one of your first pictures. Mine is quite thin at about 3/8" but same color variation. The strop that's part of this vintage kit I describe is either true russian shell (diamond pattern embossed on the back or a vintage clever imitation).
The stone in the above pic is absolutely silky smooth and does not lap easily.

Chris, mine is actually very soft, the lapping removed more material than I really wanted. And the inclusions seem to be softer than the cutting media so they are just a visual difference, no adverse affects to honing.
I tested it back to back with three vintage Coticules, one new Coticule, three vintage Thuringians, the Chinese 12k and my Nakayama Maruka, and it was closest in level of polish to the Nakayama. Whatever this stone is, it's an absolutely wonderful finisher.
These are the two "freebies" I got for buying the barber hone in the second pic.

Well well, mister mister. I bid on that same lot. My snipe was set too low. I knew from the pics that the stone had to be a Thuringian. Congrats on the win. I'm glad it went to someone that will use and appreciate it! I'm also glad to hear that the stone performs so well. Edit: I'll be using the first razor I honed with it tonight, we'll see if the visual polish translates to smooth razing in T-minus 10 minutes and counting.
Edit again: Oh, and that other stone is some kind of fine ceramic stone, a finger nail scratch test puts it somewhere around 8k. Took forever to lap.
