Diamond Plate - Coarse (C) - 45 Micron

What grit would this equate to? The Craftsmanstudio site doesnt seem to give the info. I was wondering if this is good for flattening stones

325, if I'm not mistaken, the one you linked to are the recommended DMT for lapping.

I have asked almost the same question (cf. http://straightrazorpalace.com/showthread.php?t=20985) and Bruno, Wildtim and Russel Baldridge said that a DMT8C is a very good mean to flatten stones...

But surely you will received more informations by more skilled and informed people than me. Nonetheless, hope it helps.

BTW the coarse is 325 grit if I remember well

Its only 3" wide but it looks like the right price at $35.50

I have one and it does a very good job lapping my hones.

Do you use the 3" wide plate?

Yes I do, I got the 3"X8" with this stone holder for an additional $12.50. Very happy with the combo. I set the holder with plate down in the kitchen sink and let a bit of water run on it as I do the X pattern thing with the stone face down on top. Like this.
