How long of a turn around time can one expect with honemeisters?
I would say it would depend on how busy they are, probably a week after reciept of your razor, from a Honemeister that is not too busy, to up to a month from one that is very busy and high in demand, all of the guys here that advertise honing services will put a very sharp edge on your razor for a very reasonable price
From the time you put the razor in the mail until you have it back from me is 3 weeks at the quickest. 1 week to receive, 1 week to hone and test shave, 1 week back. That assumes it is not a problem razor.
I currently have my plate full.
Just my two cents,:)
It really depends on the person you send it to's schedule. I used Mr Ratliff for 3 of my razors and I had it back in my hands exactly 1 week after I sent it to him. Fastest service I have seen, but then again its based on how many razors are in line in front of yours.
I need 1 week to hone + testshave, and 5 days return postage.
That is assuming the razor is in decent condition so I only need 1 honing session.
But sometimes I get razors that look like someome tried to use them as a can opener, and noone else is silly enough to attempt the challenge. For those razors it takes as long as it takes. Sometimes that is only 1 week, sometimes it's 3 weeks.
I don't really advertise, nor do I actively try to get honing work. I spend most of my time restoring razors, so I only hone other people's razors
a) for the challenge
b) to help someone out who specifically wants me to do the honing.
c) at the end of a retoration project.
Well, I mostly hone for european guys. Shipping to me takes as long as it takes, when I get it, I need around 3-4 days (depending on my workload and granted the razor is in decent condition) to hone it and test-shave and priority shipping back takes another 3-7 days so 2-3 weeks is a safe bet, too, although it is closer to two weeks.
there are too many factors involved, I can sometimes get them out in a day or two, if it's a problem razor, it can take much longer.
I always try for 1-2 days.
I generally take 2-3 days. Longest ever was 9 days, but it was 8 razors and I was on vacation for 3 of the days :p
