Water Stone
Have a question for the first person who can answer. In the honing video portion of Lynn's video, the world of straight razor shaving, He uses a small piece of stone, and I recall he has several small pieces to generate a slurry on the particular stones he is using. Can you buy these small pieces or are they for sale and if so where can you find them. Thanks.

Some of the old barber hones came with an extra small stone that was called a "rubbing" stone. Its purpose is to clean the surface of the hone.
The "slurry stone" can be used for that also.
Just some trivia,:)

Japanese stones are generally used with a nagura stone (the little piece) to properly release the cutting media and Howard adapted the idea to the Coticule and combined the two terms to come up with "Cotigura".
Just more trivia.
