Hi !
Has anyone compared Mibro no 6 compound to Hand American Chrome Ox ? Is one better than the other ?
Does anyone know if Japanese Kinife Sharpening ships to Canada ?
Thanks and good day,

Many metal polishing pastes can be used with great results on razors, Mother's Wheel Polish, MAAS, etc.
Yep, that's what I meant.
Most metal polishes are perfectly well suited for use as strop pastes as well. You don't really even need a strop to use them, just get some paper, apply metal polish, lay paper on a flat surface (2 to 3 inch wide piece of wood or something similar), strop as you would on leather.
+1 on Russel's posts. I've been a chromium oxide user for a long time, and two weeks ago I tried Mothers' wheel polish followed by about 50 or so laps on plain newspaper. I stropped it up on my hanging strop, and the shave was so smooth I didn't even think about going to my chromium oxide strop.
Done right, using a polishing compound gives fantastic results.
I use Peeks metal polish on newspaper. I think it's the same as MAAS. It's baby blue in colour and smells of amonia.
It does work very well after my coticule.
I do lots of laps on it, it works!
My pleasure. It makes the spine and bevel very shiny too:D
