Need advice about a chip in edge

Just got my razor back from honing and managed to ding it on the sink within 2 weeks. :mad:

1 slight chip and 1 very small chip on the edge. I'd say about 1/2 the width of the edge's bevel for the larger chip. Not sure how I should proceed to hone hone out the chip with my current stone setup.

DMT 8C 325 grit
3m 2k wet dry sandpaper
Norton 4/8k
Chinese 12k

Can I get the chip out with the norton 4k or will it take forever? I tried setting a bevel on a crappy razor with the DMT 8C and wound up screwing it up, so kind of afraid of the DMT.

So which should I use to take out the chip? I should tape the spine until the chip is out correct?

You say half the width of the bevel - how big is that - different razors have different bevels.
I would tape it definately as getting out chips will take a lot of honing.
You could try the 4k but it might take a very long time.
I have taken out chips with paper sucessfully but I don't like the process to be honest but if it works for you then go for it.
I wouldn't go as low as 325 unless the razor needs really serious work(stress the really).
Tape it and give it ten mins on the 4k and see what happens - if it takes too long go to the paper.

Yeah, i'll try that. Really don't like honing on sandpaper either. Seems like too much room for error in my poor technique haha
