Another Escher
Hi all.
I was in a small knife store the other day and asked the man working there if he had razor/barber hones. He said no and an intant later said "Let me check to make sure". A few minutes later he came back with four boxes, one of which was this Escher. The boxes were covered in dust and looked like they hadn't moved for a while. I don't know much about Eshers except that the company doesn't exist anymore and that they're highly desired. The price was reasonable based on everything I've read so I brought it home.
It looks like it's been used a bit but you can still see the faded stamp on the surface. I've seen pictures of some on SRP with "Blue/Green" stamps on the end but this one doesn't have any.
One of the other boxes contained also a thuringian hone but the company was Apex.
Cheers,
Khat

Man you made out like a bandit ! They didn't all come with labels on the end. Sometimes the color was ink stamped on the top. From the photo it looks like it still has some ink stamp so if it was used it wasn't much and it has probably never been lapped. Great find. :bow

I finally lapped the Escher and it's very very smooth. I have to say though that to this newbe the Escher feels almost identical to my Chinese 12K.
