I agree with Bud too. My 2"x8" Chinese is a great hone and does well. I still like the barber hones better. The good ones do a very comparable (or better) job, and I prefer their smaller size and faster cutting speed.

i bought a narrow Chinese 12k from ChrisL and i like the size so much i have been seriously thinking about cutting my norton 4/8k in half. its really comfortable for me in my hand. i also like the way i reacts when using the rolling X pattern. i may have to buy a big pack of hack saw blades and go to it
Look here.
I have Nakayama and i love it.i am doing test at the moment .Using 4 razor's and 4 escher 's 1 nakayama.soon i will post result of it.

i wanted buy another japan hone and guy says it has Nakayama in it.i really don't know what he means by that.
What it says please.?
Take a look at the photo close ups of various abrasive stones. It was a revelation to me, not to mention their effects on a steel edge. Even wet or dry makes a huge difference in the quality of the edge sharpened on the same stone.
