Any Ideas, ID hone?

I bought this on a whim on the Bay, any idea what it may be? Not much info to go on, but I thought it might be worth $16.

It's a barbers hone. Hard to tell for sure, but most likely due to the dimensions. No way of telling which maker unless you uncover a name while lapping. The pouch is a nice bit of history.
It's ok for the money. Wouldn't have paid any more, that's for sure.

No idea how they came up with 1930's. I just figured even if it's an old barber hone it's worth $16 shipped, and maybe I'd get luckey. I do like the pouch.

Here is the response from the seller to the question, 'how do you know it was from the 1930's.'

"That is when my grandfather who was in WW1 collected precious stones gold jewels, coins and had tons of straight blade razors but he had a set of razors in the same kind of handmade leather holder and the stone was bought at the same time and has the same hand made leather holder it even has a little bit or stuff of rust looking stuff on it. not to mention we still have gear and trunks of military stuff from WW1. he passed 20 years ago at the age of 98. Not to mention he never threw away anything. My Dad who handled the estate for him told me.

There's your answer as to what kind of hone it is, she said he collected straight's. That hone has the dimensions of a Barber hone. They're wonderful. 3-5 strokes and your blade is refreshed. I collect them, clean them up. They are hard as diamonds. I use a D8XX to start and work my way to 1000 grit. When I get done, they look new.....
