I have only re-honed a couple of razors but being a Shapton Shaver I used the 8k and the 16k that was it....
I don't know if that helps at all though, I think it would be depend on how the razor was honed to begin with, to how the re-fresh would go.....
If you want super stones I'd get the 10k that should be ok

I seem to do touch-ups alright with a small ceramic 8k hone and a paddle strop charged with .5 green paste. I recently picked up an old perforated hone that's be a bit finer than 8k and that speeds up the process a bit, but the 8k and paddle strop got the job done.

My first thoughts always go to either the .5 diamond on felt or chromium oxide for 10-15 strokes, then strop and test. If that doesn't do it, then I currently go to the Super 12K for 10 strokes, followed by diamond or paste. As a last resort, I'll re-hone the razor starting at either 4K or 5K depending on the stone, 8K, 12K and then paste.

So it sounds like if I get a 12k I will be good to go with a felt strop and CrO unless I happen to mess up a blade or let it get too far...
If that happens for the price of a 5k and 8k I may as well just send out the razor for this..

Usually it's a barber hone; which you don't prefer. Sometimes I use an old Thuringian, which is very nice (usually needs a few more laps than my fav barber hones). Anything over about 10k or so is good.
I don't personally like pastes, which are great if you like them.
