    Default Coti/BBW combo arrived

Arrived this morning, woke me up in fact

Can't wait to hone up a razor on her this evening. It seems pretty flat, got a bit of a shine to it even, do the stones from Ardennes need to be lapped?

I'll get some pictures up later, it's only a small one though - couldn't justify a biggun.

    My thanks to Rob,
    Greg

Great to hear you got the coti/BBW Greg.

    What size did you get?

I think the razors I returned to you should arrive today or tomorrow as well..

I will pick up some sand paper before i go home then.

I got a size 8 bout, buts its a rectangle with cut corners for all intents and purposes. Ideal.

    Hoping they will!

Not ordinary sandpaper but the Wet and Dry abrasive paper that bodyshops use. Imperial WOD 400 or 600 grit would be good.

    honed up my first razor!

I tried the barbers notch I picked up the other day first but it's a heavy grind I didn't really make much progress with the infamous one coticule method. Switched to my 6/8s McPherson and had much more joy, off to have a test shave now.

I've not tried it myself but honemiester Randydance has posted that he sometimes likes to set a bevel with 1k grit wet & dry sandpaper. More abrasive per square inch than a hone and he has had good results. You might give that a go on your wedge and get faster results than with the one coticule method.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Makes sense to me. I have the BBW which is 4k isn't it? I might start there. I got it cutting arm hair with the first step, but not like the McPherson was, I might just give it another shot.

anyway, I just got a no-nick irritation free shave with the McPherson, did ATG every where with no issues. It could probably use another shot on the seat belt but it WORKED
