Unequal bevel
I have a Dovo Classic 6/8 Half Hollow. One bevel is larger than the other. To the naked eye. I can't tell if the grind is unequal (the body of the razor seems symmetrical). If I go to my 1200 or 2000 grit stones to even them out, how do I know if I need to make the narrower one wider or make the wider one narrower? Any advice appreciated regarding figuring out the problem and fixing it.
Thanks,
Dave

Is it brand new razor? Does it shave well? All i no is if shaves i would'nt worry about it i have new ones and the bevels are not equal i just brought a TI and the bevel is thicker in the middle and non existant athe toe why i don't nomy last TI was special addition silverwing it looked like it had no bevel but it was sharp new razors you would expect a perfect straight bevel . I have restores that are perfect.

Please leave it alone. Bevel has nothing to do how your blade will shave ok. it is bigger one side and small another so is that a big deal? i don't think so.
You will hurt blade with trying to fix that problem then leave it alone. hope this helps.

I agree with Gary and Sham from my experience. Shave with it and see how it does before you worry about the uneven appearance. As long as the razor shaves well a perfectly symmetrical bevel is not necessary although it may be aesthetically desirable.

It was bothering me from a cosmetic point of view so I will leave it alone. I do have problems with the edge not lasting very long but I will post that in another thread. Thanks for the feedback.

I have never experianced an edge not lasting very long good stropping should keep edge realy good for a while if not ch.5 or polishing hone plus paste.
