When I say over honing (this is where it gets confusing) I am not talking in specific about "over honing" but simply about honing too much. Sorry. This encompasses over honing, wire edges, metal removal, etc. I think my key factor was not enough time on the 5k it SEEMS. Its starting to look a lot better now. Because I use circles that takes care of wire edges and such, just one of the blades I'm honing has like, zero hone wear. Not NOS, has some stains, but to see the hone wear you need a loupe and it has to catch the light.
