Diamond, Chrome Ox and a Japanese Straight
I purchased a shave ready Japanese straight the other day. I have no doubt it left the previous owner shave ready, but during transport the edge hit the side of the coffin it was in.
Before sending it out for a professional honing, I'd like to try bringing it back myself if I can.
I've got a balsa paddle with chrome ox and .5 diamond spray on the other side.
I know that when honing Japanese straights a person is suppose to sharpen one side more than the other. I'm assuming this applies when using diamond and chrome ox.
My question is, what is the ratio of passes per side? Is it two on the concave and one on the other side? It seems like I read that somewhere, but can't find it now.
Thanks,
