Congratulations!! Great for the self esteem isn't it? Just in case your 12,000 grit Japanese waterstone doesn't come with it, be sure you get some Nagura for your slurry. I've used synthetic & natural & find that I like the synthetic a little better. You will love how this new stone polishes the cutting edge, you are well beyond the sharpening stage at this point. Keep us posted, I'd love to hear your input and edge perception after you have gone from the 8K norton to the 12K Japanese waterstone. It's a pretty big jump, so it may take twice the amount of strokes to smooth out the 8k scratches in the edge.
