Fallkniven stone question.

I was looking for a new all purpose knife and stone, so after some browsing and discussing with our Macedonian forces I decided to look at Fallkniven.

So what is my question.
I wondered if anybody could give me advice on if I should/can or should not/cannot this stone on my Dovo Inox (please include information why I can/cannot should/shouldn't). It is the DC4.

Ok, I know Norton, but this one is coming this way anyhow for the knife (will be the S1, just looking for the cheapest and that will take a bit).

I don't know that stone and I can't tell much from the pictures, but it's likely that it's not fine enough for a razor. I fyou don't want to spend a lot of money and just want to maintain your razors, get a 2 sided stone from Ebay.

The diamond side is 25 micron, the other side is ceramic ... if that helps (and the norton wil be there in due time, just needed this one for the S1 knife).

It sounds too coarse (at least the 25). The Norton is 4/8K, which is like 6/3 microns.

It looks like those stones are designed for sharpening up your standard pocket and kitchen knives and are a tad on the coarse side even for those. I don't think I would use them on a straight.

Oh, and on the stone, it is for the fallkniven knives, mostly vg-10 or harder steels.

ps, convex ground .... should have known from that the stone for that wouldn't work on a razor.

The diamond side is far to coarse. I have a 1200 grit diamond hone and even it is almost to coarse for anything except creating a new edge.

The ceramic side has grooves in it. Totally inappropriate for a razor.
I have the Spyderco Ultrafine ceramic hone and that may be fine enough for a razor but I need more time with it to come to a conclusion.

Stick with the proven hones. Either a Norton 4000/8000, Belgian or a classic barber hone.

I am Dutch, don't trust anything from the centuries ago seperated ones down South (Belgians :D).

Will stick to strop and pastes till the stone is needed.

What grit you estime this to be?

Hello Joe,

I have not had enough time on the hone to really say.
After I hone a few more razors on the Spyderco series of hones I will post a review here.
