1ST ATTEMPT
I think If it pops hair off my wrist with ease it ought to shave after I strop it! It's my first attempt at honing. The razor is also my first restore. Purple Heart scales with a Vom Cleff & Co Blade. Going to strop and test tonight. Of course I'll post it in the restoration thread tonight or tomorrow night.

Hey Iceman, good to see another show me state guy on the forums. I'm new to honing myself, but one thing I've learned is sharp enough to take arm hair off doesn't exactly mean shave ready. Hopefully not in your case though. Keep us informed!

Well it hasn't been stroped yet and the hair is a popin! I'm waiting to see if it'll shave after stropping. If not than I'll work the 12k stone. The edge was pretty dull so I hit the 1k for ten laps. Than a 4k/8k pyramid starting at 25 laps than 12k for ten laps. Won't pass the hanging hair test, but I'll strop it when I get home.

100 laps on the Horse hide and it goes ping on the hanging hair test. Gonna shave with it in the morning.

My razors pass the HAHT off the 1k hone , but they aren't ready to shave with . I use the shave I get to determine what hone to go back to , if I don't get the shave I want from a newly honed razor . In most cases , if the razor shaves well but is a little scratchy , I hone 5-10 more laps on the 8k , and 5-10 laps on my finish hone (Shapton 15k Pro.) . If the razor is shaving rough , tugging , and skipping , I go back to the 4k , and do 20-40 laps , more or less depending on the razor (some hone faster than others).
Greetings , from Dundalk , Maryland . The place where normal people , fear to go .
