Good choice of hones. You may want to add a polishing hone later
12K Naniwa is a great polishing hone, what you will need is to go lower. how low depends on if you will be setting bevels or not.Quote:

Heck, I even sat a bevel on a brand new one. Took a bit of time, but now it shaves just fine.

The 12K will do just fine as a touch-up hone. The 8K would make the process go a bit quicker; but, it is not essential. Without the 8K, you'll just have to spend a little more time with the 12K.Quote:

I now use either a Naniwa 3/5/10 or 3/8/12 progression, and I like them both very much.
