Honing with the master

Hi everybody,

Today I got to talk to the master(Lynn). I was having trouble with one of my razors so I called him up. At the time he was shaving with one of his Maestro's. While we were chatting he pointed out that the razor I was honeing was a wedge to my surprise. The bevel was good at the heel and toe but the middle was getting bigger and I didn't know why. We discovered that the most logical reason was a wide spot in the blade. So to resolve the problem he told me to hone in circles at a 45 degree angle until the bevel was even. 20 strokes counterclockwise towards me then 20 clockwise away. Well it took maybe a half an hour to get the bevel straight. I still have a slight rise on the blade where my original honeing was going on but at the edge the bevel was just right so I stopped. Then I took it to my padded strop hone and refined the edge a bit. It shaves hair but not pop them yet. Later I will put it to the gem hone and get it to pop hairs. Anyway I got a lot of good information from him while on the phone a short time. And he is a very nice guy to speak with. So not to go on and on. Thanks to Lynn I will not be puting this razor back on ebay at a loss but will use it as a shaver.
