Hey, that's great, a honing stone with wireless internet!! hehehe
Get it, nice addition to the colection... The holes are supposed to stop wire edge?.

Pike was the original name of Norton, I believe, or Norton acquired Pike somewhere along the line. Either way, it's probably a very good hone.
Gary, I have a stone that is similar. I don't think mine was made by pike. I can't tell because i don't have the original box it came in. The hone has worked great for me with no issues. I actually use the back of the hone first and then move to the front (with the holes) and do about 5 to 10 passes on that side before moving to the strop.

I'll go for it then, even if it's just for historical value. Thanks

That's pretty cool. I've never seen those holes before. Does it mention what the grit size is? If it's not too expensive, I say go for it.
No grit size known, I asked the guy thats selling it and he has no idea what I'm talking about. I think I can get it for $NZ20 = $US12
Cheers

Tilly has them on eBay right now if you search for hones. Her seller name is Redtrader99
I have one and the instructions describe the hole side as useful to remove a wire edge.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they also prevent residue buildup?
