Help a beginner get his basic finishing stone

So I am a bit baffled in what I actually need for honing. The honing wiki is a bit ambiguous if for example you simply want a hone to retouch a straightblade that was honed on purchase or similar by a Honemiester.


"If the only task you want to perform is refreshing edges that have previously been established by a Honemiester (the process is often referred to as "touching up"), you need only get a fine grit finishing stone or a barber's hone for this. Either of these hones can be used to keep your razor(s) shave-ready for years. "

I don't want to restore older blades or even blades with blemishes etc. I just want to maintain the shave ready 5/8 boker king cutter that I have now.

So I know I need a fine grit finishing stone or barbers hone. My questions are what are the differences between the two. Is this similar to the idea of "getting a cheap strop because I will destroy it before getting a nice one or can I go all out right away"?

what are the advantages/disadvantages of different grit sizes within the finishing stone category?

Is there a go to place to buy hones? something like this work?
