i have told so many people your razor is crap without thinking it is a rude etc.
The truth is the best.
why to hide? if this person really understand your situation he will know you try to help him to open his eyes not hurt his feeling.

I really like the idea of letting him use your razor, then you wont have to say a thing. If he has questions then answer them honestly.
Went the tactful route. He didn't quite understand, regardless of how I explained it. So I just sharpened it like a knife to the same grit as a razor and he's very happy.

I agree with most everyone else. If his razor has been sharpend like a knife, he very well may have never had a smooth straight razor shave. Let him use your razor. If he likes it suggest he possibly get something in better condition and explain to him why his razor is defective at this time.
Thanks Someguy, I thought of that, and offered to lend him my Chinese double arrow, bu he used his own, was happy, and decided that he didn't want to be spoiled, so he gave it back.
