Bluto honing method

I'd like to re-introduce to the shaving community a honing method I call the Bluto method. This is the method used by Bluto, from Popeye, to hone his razors.

Of course I'm joking.
On a serious note, I bought this one for the horn scales. But I'm looking forward to the challenge of the restoration. One tiny bug bight, very little rust, no pitting. The only problem is a few small chips in the edge.

I love those old cartoons, it takes me right back to being a kid and watching them all on TV!

Anyone ever tried the thing with the tongue? This is the first time i see this (or hear of it). I was too terrified to try it on my own…

God no, I wouldnt do that unless you particularly like the forked tongue look..! :)

Stick to the usual tests like TNT, TPT and so on.

That´s pretty much what I thought. But still, I was like "He is doing this for a reason…" I mean, those cartoonists wouldn´t invent new fake edge testing methods, would they?

I love that in the final fight on the barber chair he says 'a little bay rum' and swipes a jar from the table, good enough for popeye must give it a go then lol

I didn't realize I've been doing this wrong. Apparently eating a can a spinach gives you a BBS :D

Yeah I know. Every time there is a decent cartoon on for my kids, they end up taking it off - even Baby Looney Tunes is off the air.

But rest assured - there is no lack of TV shows with some smart mouth kid sassing his parents and treating his friends like crap.

The honing technique is something to take note of, but what I really learned from was his shaving technique. Just a few quick swipes to make sure the blade is properly aligned with your hair and a nice quick sweep over your face. BBS every single time.
