one side won't sharpen
I have been working at this razor on my 4000 grit hone, however i get this uneven sharpen. I have tried many things to get that razor sharpe edge back to the tip of my blade, but at this point i am desperate. i think i will send it to a professional unless someone can give me advice.

I would suggest to go to 1k and hone until the bevel is set properly.
If you do not have 1k stone and do not want to spend money on one it will be cheaper to send the razor out and then touch it up when needed.

If you're new to str8 shaving, I WOULD send it to a pro. Avoid 'project' razors like the plague. Their time will come, but for now, have some known good blade(s).
If you're experienced and now learning to hone, start w/ a magic marker test, where you place either a solid magic marker line on the edge or lines or dots at 1/4-3/8" intervals along the edge. Take 2 strokes and see if the marker is removed evenly all along the edge. This confirms whether or not your stroke is contacting the entire edge. If it's not, 2 conditions to find out about. a) is the blade symetric? If you lay the spine and edge on a known flat surface (lapped hone, piece of plate glass) does the entire length of the blade make full contact on both sides. A small flashlight beamed between the spine and the edge can help with visibility here. b) If full contact with no pressure in holding the blade on the flat surface is found, then Mainaman is certainly telling you right. The bevel in not really set. As you go up in grit levels, the problem will persist, though you may get a shavable edge.
