polishing hone?
I've been drooling over a corticule(sp?) for a while, now I'm reading that their grit isn't consistant?
So what would be recommend? Something very, very fine, to finish up after my 8000 norton. I've been looking at japanese water stones but have no experience using one.

If you have some $$$ lying around get the Shapton Pro series hone. That's what I'll be getting as soon as I land a 45+k permanent job lol.

I have a coticule which does a very nice job but before I got that I used a japanese Kitayama Stone which is about 12K. It does a very nice job also.

The Chinese 12000 grit natural stoone is also a good buy and so would be an Escher natural waterstone.
Please also consider using an abrasive pasted paddle strop. Have the 1.0, 0.5 and 0.25 micron abrasive pastes applied.
