So the Mrs. came back from the post office with a box for me. No name for a sender, though the box was from SRD. It was a Nani 12k, which I've been curious about since reading a few comparison threads. I didn't order it. It just showed up.
I think I know who sent it, but had to tell about the kindness and goodwill from guys here. It just doesn't stop.
For all of the help of various kinds from many members, I'm very grateful. Thank you.
You know, I was just thinking about that the other day. This place has a lot of Pay It Forward going on, and its constantly taking on new forms...naniwa 12k's, leather, razors, knowledge.
It's just nice to see.

The attitude of the members is the main reason I joined SRP over another shaving forum. Didn't see a lot of bickering in the threads, and everyone here has been a huge help to me.
DerekC just tried turning my Shapton over and it didn't work so great :/

Upon watching Utopian hone on a shapton glass stone, one of the attendees quickly realized he had been honing on the wrong side of the hone. It explained why he was getting terrible results.
In his defense, they ARE called GLASS Stones. As I pointed out to him at the meetup, I am certain that he is not the only person to make that mistake. He was simply the only person I had available to mock in person! On the bright side, just that small bit of information about which side of the hone to use certainly made the meetup worthwhile for him!
I didn't actually use the glass side, little bit of sarcasm.
I did chuckle a little at the story though.
and meeting people and having someone guide helped a lot, one of these days i might be able to meet up with some people, but there is no one close to me.
